Watermelon Slices

Watermelons are one of the most difficult subjects for me to paint. There is no paint color called "watermelon." I have two blues on my palette, but six reds. It takes a lot of trial and error to find just the right combination of these six to capture the texture and moistness of watermelon. I am happy with this rendition, especially with the drama of the reflection.
