These works are by far the most intimate work I have done in over four decades of oil painting. A cross country move to from Spokane, Washington to Florida in 2004 gave me the luxury of time. With that time, I began to notice the small nuances of seemingly mundane objects around me. The way sunlight glows through a flower petal, or the shapes and colors of shadows. I began to experiment with expressing these images in oil paint.
This series, "Moments of Beauty," is dedicated to my husband Al Walker, who gives me the precious time and unconditional support to do this work.
