This morning, as I am preparing a long progressive blog piece on a 24 x 18 painting I did last week, I received an invitation on Facebook to participate in a week long black and white photo challenge. Subject of the challenge is my life.
I am a lousy photographer and see in colors, often vibrant ones. So, this is really a challenge for me. (Grumble. Grumble. I cannot do this.) I picked up my camera and started shooting around the house. When I opened myself up to the project, it became more and more fun. Without moving a thing and using natural light, I began seeing subjects and compositions all around me. This turned out to be a great creative exercise. You might try it yourself.
